Dudes remember how I said my quad was'nt starting well we took it to honda and they tested the compression it lost all its compression only 15 pounds....They are checking everything and gonna fix it....sucks thought I dunno what happned to it....I always do everything I should....but 15 pounds ????

how old is it? cuz maybe its still on warrenty, also was there enough oil in it?, another thing is u could have over reved it down a hill, im stumped other than that

I dunno but they said they can fix it....no matter what it is....I have never had a problem with it like this but its fixable at a cost of money and time :devil

yeah i believe stock compression is between 100 and 128 psi so u got problems..lol:( let us know what they find out...

well this all happend after I hit a 90 ft up hill and the boot from the carb to the piston head poped off so we got a new one and fixed it started up fine and normal all the compression on earth and all of a sudden it was gone only thing I can think of is The cold air hit the valves and threw them off or dirt got in the head or I blew a gasket.....They said it will be fixed soon and I really don't care what I gotta pay I just want my quad back:mad:

for that dramatic of a loss in compression it cant be good...:(

it could have sucked something in when the boot came off...causing some sort of chain reaction...good luck...hopefully its a small thing like rings..hope you get it fixed

15 pounds!? That is a very severe loss of compression. Keep us posted on what happened, I am curious what could cause such a dramatic loss in pressure. By the way, a motor needs about 60-65 PSI to carry out combustion with gas, FYI.

dudes it was the rings I guess when the boot came off the dust locked up in the rings not allowing them to pull air in the guy said it was thick and blue colored????? who knows but its the rings they wouldnt open....

a friend had that happen on his brand new out the door 400ex, but his problem was when he got it home, he did something with the air filter, and somehow didn't tighten it, it got dust into the motor, scarred the cylinder and it lost ALL compression....

Stealer said it was owners fault for messing with it, but still did the warranty work for him...

BTW, I remember them saying stock compression was near 178psi +/- 14psi

mine has a 440 so its more....psi but i dunno what I did??

What gear and how much throttle you hitten that little 90 foot uphill jump???:D That's a pretty big jump...maybe the altitude change when you hit that jump caused the problem...at least it was an easy fix and not something that's gonna cost ya a small fortune..

well I did it good to be honest not a case or anything...it felt good I just guess it poped off, that track is nice but when I was there I was racing with my cousin and went nuts....I hit it 3rd wide open...:eek:
