05' 400ex price

My buddy is looking at a used 05 400ex and he would have to take over payments on it. The guy selling it is telling him he still owes about $5400 on it. I'm thinking hes getting screwed cause the guy has nothing done to it and has had it for over 6 months. So what did you guys buy your 05 or 06s for, and how much did you walk otd with it for.

dude thats horrible. you can get one on this websight for cheaper. ebay is cheaper. try your towns craiglist (type it in google, like a classifieds for your area, bought my dirt bike and one of my quads off there)

i wouldnt give 4000 for it i know of several nice 450s for under 4000 in my area

Yea its gonna cost ya if your taking over payments for a 400ex. My buddy got a 02 for 3200 and it looked new. I would look around.

I agree with everyone above. Just so you know what kind of deals are out there: I bought my 06' 400EX about 2 months ago, had less than 10 hours on it...$3,500.00. There are 450's for $3,700.00. Keep looking.

yeah, i've also seen trx450r's for 3500 cash. just wait for that right deal. i know the feeling to just go out and buy one, buy don't waste your money.

I agree with you guys completely! I mean I bought my 04' 400ex for 4500 and walked OTD paying that much. The only reason he's even considering it is because he could make payments on it. I told him just to save up and buy a decked out 02' one for like 3500-4G. Heck, if it was me I wouldn't even pay that much for a used 450R unless it looked brand new and had plenty of stuff done to it! Thanks though guys for the replies.

I got my 05 for right around $5,000 OTD brand new last year.... yeah hes getting screwed.

I bought mine brand new for $4800, but after financing i think it came out to like $5500. still paying on it but paying it faster than what the final numbers came to so i may end up only paying $5100 - $5300

yes he is, i paid $5000 for mine brand new, and i could have gooten it a little cheaper. it is almost worht it if the guy wants to give it to ur buddy.

My wife bought mine for 6200 in may of this year ( I know to much) last night at the same dealer I could have walked out the door with an 05 leftover 450r for 3800.

Just got an 05 about two months ago for 3250 on ebay Was bought new from the dealership only five months before. Mint condition with HMF pipe, brand new helmet and oakley goggles. The brand new left over 05's at the local dealership right down the road from me are 4200$ (asking price).

I paid 1700 for my 02 ex... since then i've rebuild nearly every damn thing myself. I have just over 2200 in her now and it's a fairly peppy lil 416...

Thats $6200 With the DCNR registration and everything. (tax, tags,title and warranty)
