Do you use an octane booster? That has been known to turn the inside of your engine red. Otherwise I have never heard of a red plug.

Gas additives will turn your plug different colors! Rust color is a sunoco high octance trademark. I have found green plugs from using Marathon gas.

Hope this helps

I have seen some plugs that were almost a flourescent pink color from using additives such as octane booster. With the race fuel I mix my gas with, my plug has a slight hue of orange.
