tune up?

Hello, i just bought a 04 400ex and it seems to be running a little rough. I was wonddering if there was something i should do to it like tune up wise. I dont really know alot about quads so sorry if this seems dumb.

I'd say if you just got it change the oli and oil filter. then air filter and spark plug. If still running rough clean carburator. then if still running rough then maybe the jetting is messed up.

ok, thanks..it doesnt smoke or make ticking noises or anything just runs a little sluggish

I agree with Choppers, except you just need to clean the air filter provided it's not ripped or anything. You might also want to check the air snorkle and make sure it doesn't have any blockages in it.

ok thanks guys...can i get the oil, filter and spark plug from my local aid auto store or should i go to the dealer..

I would take it to the dealer. If you bought it used your valves might need to be adjusted also and since you have to go anyways to get the spark plugs you could have them check it over. JMO
