I am taking apart my blaster, (as I do to all the four-wheelers I buy used) to make sure nothing is wrong, and clean, grease oil.... well you get the point. Anyhow, I took the head-pipe off, and was going to look at the cylinder walls, when I looked inside I saw that there was alot of carbon build-up around the exaust hole. If I'm carefull not to get any in the cylinder, can I scrape it out with a screw-driver, or is there something that is causing this that needs to be fixed? , thanks in advance

Me and a buddy of mine that I used to race with noticed this with our Banshees. Our pipes had started to get coated with carbon build up on the inside. Like a 1/4 inch buildup on the inside of the pipes. We called a few of the big name engine builders and every single one asked what kind of premix oil we were using. We told them Maxima 927 and a few of them said that was the problem. They said any kind of castor oil would do that and we should find a premix oil that was a bean oil. Or maybe vice versa, I can't remember for sure about the bean/castor oil part. They told us they run Golden Spectro or Castrol A 747. So just to try it, we started running the Castrol A 747 and never had anymore trouble. I had ordered new pipes right about the time I switched over and when I got rid of that quad, the carbon build up still hadn't been a problem. Plus, it seemed to lubricate really well. I never had any problems while using that oil and my engine always looked great when I took it apart. So, that's what I'd recommend as far as 2 stroke oil.
