Haha I was getting ready to make a trail camera thread to. Here is a couple pix we got last week. These camera's are so cool. Im always anxious to download my new pics every weekend. In 4 days we got 14 different deer on camera. What are you using for bait/attractant?

10 point shooter. This is a really young 10 point, his body is small and his antlers dont have much mass, but ide say hes still a shooter.

8 pointer with long brow tines must be making a scrape because hes nibbling a branch. His Brow tines are taller then his G1's and G2's...

Really small 8 pointer with a crab claw G2 and G3.

if you guys stay up late enough you get to see it become light around 11:00pm Central time..which is around 5 am there in africa..this is by far the coolest thing ever. I've seen giraffes (sp), antilope type things, water buffalo type animals, and lots of birds. Must cost thousands of dollars to do this.

This morning i was watching the one in new jersey and there were 7 does that I could seen on the screen at one time, no bucks though. The rut here has picked up in the last week, must not be there yet.

Question... how is counting only one side accurate when alot of deer dont have the same number of times on one side. If you said you shot a 5 pt goin by your rules then theres an endless possiblities of number of tines total if it only has one antler then it could be a 5 pt or it could be a real deformaty (sp) and be a 14+ pt deer. I have hunted in wyoming many times and they say 5x5 for a ten pt or 4x4 for an 8 pt is this what your talkin about. Just curious no flaming.

m_townsgreatest
11-01-2006, 12:22 PM
yeah we say like 4x5 and stuff but if they was an even amount we would just say 5 point, for a 5x5

we have a few camera out on our land as well infact last night when i was bow hunting i seen the biggest buck ive ever seen and me ive gotten some pretty nice 140-150 class bucks but im betting this one is in the 160-170 mark had to been at least 20-21" wide and i know for sure there were tines on that bruiser that were 12-14" long and awsome mass i got my trophy picked out hopefully i can get him before someone else does

700bRad
11-02-2006, 09:33 AM
Odds of seeing him again are very slim. Goodluck though. I just shot at the trophy I had picked out about an hour ago and the arrow bounced off his shoulder bone, DAMIT!

Pretty awsome pics, I think I'd like to get one, how much are these things?! I see so many prints around our property, cats, bears, wolf etc... If the pic was better quality I'd set some up on the MX track! Every jump gets a pic!

I read alot of info on the site hosting the video feed, They seem to be modifying digital cameras with IR and having it on video mode etc.

I will be ordering a straigh outdoor security camera with IR and 500 yards of siamese coax and build one for myself. The family has non stop been watching this video feed so one of our own should provide some entetainment! I am not a computer geek so I dunno if I could ever stream it, but it still should be a fun project!

i also have a disc of some pics of deer from my cameras....if I can find it:p

oh boy....pappy you have to get a variety of things that are suposed to attract deer and see which ones work the best...like stump licker and all that good stuff...I got this link off of a mustang forum i visit and they were going wild over it. Its hard to get hw done when your watching a blank screen hoping a big one will show up some time..:o
