Alright so my quad sat all summer and when we went to go start it up I noticed a rattling noise inside my exhaust and it sounds like theres a screw stuck inside there. Is this a common thng to happen its not that old its an 05.

I have 2 05 400ex and never had that problem. Are you positive Its a screw and not a rock or something?Anyways take the silancer off and remove the spark arrestor off to see if you can get it out.

you don't want anything like that to get into your header and then get to your exhaust valves in the head so i would make sure you get it out. i mean it would be hard to get back to your valves when the exhaust gases blow out but i would rather be safe than sorry.

or do it the ghetto way and just take your slip on off and just shake that b*itch till it falls out.

Maybe you could just stand the quad up on its rear and shake the quad around abit to get it out. Then you wouldn't have to take apart anything. Just a thought.

hks308 - lol - I suppose that is true. Might be able to do it with the help of a friend or two. Again, it was just a thought.

if you have a strong magnet you could also use that.. just pipe where the screw is in the pipe.. put the magnet there and drag it out to the back..
