Does anyone know if the flywheel from a XR400 is lighter than the 400ex flywheel? I have looked the part numbers up and they are different, I am just wondering what the weight difference is?

you can get your stock flywheel lightened, TC racing did mine for $75.00

Not to the original question, but I was just wondering and since the thread relates.... what is the benefit of a HEAVIER flywheel?

Heavier flywheel is less likely to stall when trying to lug it around in tight woods. Lighter will rev quicker.

How much did you lighten yours by? Do you race MX or XC?

i am not 100% sure since i have never seen a XR flywheel. but i would have to guess they are lighter. i believe honda added weight to the 400ex's crank compared to the XR to make it more durable. i also have no clue if they are a direct swap. i have a feeling if it was that easy then i would have seen it before.
