400ex Tranny Gears? [Archive]

How many gears does an 2001 400ex trasmission supposed to have in it. Becasuse i only have 1-4 and that jsut doesn't seem right, cuz people on here are saying there 400ex has a 5th gear, Am i missing a gear?

5 gears, 1st gear you press shifter down, gears 2 - 5 you pull shifter up

thats kinda funny.......... it would be even funnier if you rode it like that since 2001 1-5 though yup
