Ok....I just bought a 05 300ex brand new from haps honda and got it for little over $3,900 (dealer left over) and i had about $5,500 to spend.. so I still have about $1,600 left ove to hop up the performance a little and I have looked around on the web a little and heres the list that i have so far ... let me know what you think or what you would change or add.. thanks..

#1. k&N air filter with outer wear.
#2. Dyno jet stage 1 jet kit.
#3. Powroll.com vented air box lid.
#4. Yoshimura RS-3 SS full exaust system.

ANYTHING ELSE ?????

You want an honest answer? How far are you planning to go, in the long run?

I would get a cam,k&n filter and remove the airbox lid and put an outerwears on the filter and the outerwears airbox cover. Also get an exhaust like curtis sparks or White brothers header pipe with hmf exhaust. Make sure you get it jetted properly also.

After the pipe, filter, lid mod, rejet, get some suspension upgrades and some better tires.

Sounds good so far...pipe,filter,modify airbox lid and jet.As rooster300ex said, instead of going with the Yoshimura pipe, i would go with either the Sparks or HMF pipe.Nothing against Yoshimura at all, but i would say the Sparks and HMF will make as much power and will probably cost a little less than the Yoshi pipe.I've ran both of them on my old 300ex's and they made a noticeable power gain.

You've listed 1-4....#5 should definitely be tires!I hated the stock 22 inch rears on the 300ex.Razr's,holeshots,klaws...choose whatever tire that fits what kind of riding that you will be doing. You'll see a big difference in the way the 300ex handles and rides.

Do the engine mods that you already have listed and then later on you can add suspension. With the 300ex i would build the suspension before i did any more motor mods than what you have listed above.

The first thing I would do is update the suspension. It makes riding so much more fun, and then you can buy extra's for your engine or look into upgrading to another model.

If he wanted a 400 or a 450 he would of bought one. He must like the 300ex and wants to get extra power out of the quad he wanted.

High compression piston should be the last thing he needs, he needs suspension/tires/handle bars/exhaust/filter/jetted before any motor work.

unless he races or jumps big he dont need supention right away whey do you think he posted it in the engine section because he wants more power
