just got home with new06 yfz, rode for maybe 10 minutes, noticed headpipe glowing red. is this normal for new bike.

have you rejetted it yet? they are pretty lean from te factory.

no didnt jet it. you would think it comes jetted correctly from factory. this is a brand new , bone stock bike with 10 minutes of ride time.

They jet them lean from the factory so they can pass emissions standard tests or w/e....

My new '06 is so lean it pretty much won't run without the choke 1/2 on. It spits and backfires pretty regularly and the headpipe is cherry red.....
Not an issue though, just richen it up.
Yup nothing wrong with the glowing header...
Even if the YFZ is jetted correctly the header will still glow;)

my brothers 06 did that, but he got a full hmf and rejetted it, it glows just a little bit now after a while of riding, but his engine is still extremly hot, no riding that quad with shorts, i kno i shouldnt ride with shorts, i just do sometimes...

another issue im having with this new 06 is that the engine revs doesnt return to idle very fast. when i let off on the throttle, the rpm's dont drop for atleast two or three seconds, doesnt do it all the time. had a raptor that did the same thing. anyone else having this issue

When I first got mines. I had the same problem.. I was relieved when I found out is normal..
Just ride it like u stoled it!!
