anybody have a few pics of flip top frames where the seat and fenders flip back ( not shure of the exact term, or frame maker) i want to see how they are built and how they stay down , so some closeups would be great

Always practice being able to pull up the flip top quick in a race also. Esp. when stuff like this happens. lol:D This was at the Florida national this year when the idiot on the yfz drove straight into the side of me, how he managed to do this, i have no idea. Kinda funny pic though i thought:D He kept on his quad and on the gas for a few seconds, when this pic was taken i was letting know what i thought of him and how much i appreciated it:eek2:

Oh thats just a couple of them:D Just some pics of ones that have flip tops. Plenty other that didnt have them.

The flip top subframes were made only for aftermarket frames by the manufator's. Laeger and Walsh had used them on alot of there hybrid, and some of the R chasis. A couple of other smaller aftermarket chasis companies also put them on there frames. Im sure you could make a flip top subframe conversion pretty easily on anything. Just remember the stock R frame are a solid frame/subframe, so it might be a little more pain in the butt, if you were to do something like that yourself you might as well convert it to a a removable sub frame. It would be a pretty cool prodject if you had the time and material.

Hey, heres a pic for you. I circled the mounting points. The flip top part of the sub frame has a tab piece thats a little larger on the end of it, the subframe part of it uses a seat style bushing. Remember what they tought you in health class:eek2: :D The tab piece goes into the bushing and it holds it in place. With the tab having a larger end it kind of locks it into place, has a little resistance to pull it up.

Thank you
Justin

And if the rubber bushing/ seat grommet gets some wear on it the set/fender comes up over every jump and hits you in the balls.
