I just recieved my yoshi rs-3 full system today and in the directions it says that you can run it with the stock jetting. I still plan on having it jetted but i am waiting to get my aluminum airbox and vented lid. I was just wondering if I could just run it with the stock jets for (hopefully) just a day or two.

If you still have the stock air filter and lid. You'll probably be ok with the stock jetting, although it'll be a tad lean.

After the intake mods, step up to a 40pilot and 155 main.

right now it has a brand new k&n in a stock airbox with lid. I ordered a UM aluminum airbox with lid, and I have a brand new UNI filter for that setup. I am bringing it to the shop after I install the yoshi pipe and the new airbox to have the jetting dialed in. I was thinking about having a 42 pilot installed, would that be better?

IMO- A 42 would be too much for that setup.

FYI-I'm running a 42 pilot in my stroker.

Whats with everyone saying if you put a 42 pilot in it cures cold starting problems then? I plan on putting a stage 1 hotcam and aybe a couple other small things in a little while. I was thinking of building a stroker motor this winter but I am undecided.

You can run a 42 pilot, the quad will still probably run fine. Although throttle response will be more crisp with the leaner pilot jet.

The larger pilot will help with the cold blooded nature of the machine.

Do the jetting yourself and spend the money you were going to pay to have it done to buy your cam  Jetting is easy and use the 42 piliot I have 2 2005 400ex and put 42 piliot's in both cured that cold starting problem and throttle response is fine.It took me 45 minutes per bike to put the exhaust on and jet them.

yeah i have been thinking about jetting it myself, after all I am an auto mechanic. I just installed my yoshi system yesterday and I love it! My dad also ordered the slip-on for his wolverine 450 and he wants me to put it on and jet it aswell, so I might as well jet my own bike too. My 400 started up and ran fine on the stock jets but, I want all I can get from my wheeler, so I think I will pick up a few jets at the shop on my way by. The yoshi header pipe looks sweet when it turns gold!

Oh and I think I will just pick up a 40 and 42 pilot jet and try them both see what happens.
