Does anyone up here have experience with them. How do they compare to 380 kits and hybrid kits like 400 polaris cylinder on 250r bottom end?

I think that there is a dino of the Sabertooth in the Dino section of this forum. I remember seeing one somewhere and it was over 100hp. No personal experience. Check out the dino section.

You will probably have better luck posting this on www.planetsand.com A lot of those guys run the really big bores.

I found what I was looking for. on www.patriotracing.net he has the Sabertooth motors. He says that with methanol the 496-510cc motor does 99hp.

99 hp out of a single....amazing!

500sabertooth aka neil on planetsand has a 496 sabertooth and got 100.3hp but I believe it's runnin stronger since then. Nothing is even compareable to it 250r wise so far.

Any one run one on the track tt or mx? or is it just to much to hold on too?

I would say no way for mx but it might be a possibility for tt.

i would think there would come a point at which you have too much power. And that power would have to come on like a light switch.

Not to mention what the rebuild cost associated with that would be.

There's no way that I would want to ride a 500cc bike on a mx track! Imagine over tripple, almost 4 times the stock hp. Plus you think that a stock or +2 swingarm can handle a 100hp motor? can you even get traction with that much power? what kinda pipe are you gonna get for it that's gonna let it breathe but will still have good lowend power?

From what I hear the sabertooths do actualy have really good low end power and torque. If you go look up the dyno charts you can see for yourself.

for those that will need a tamer version of the Sabertooth for mx-ing ect ect. there are two other cylinders in the works. not sure exactly when they'll hit the market but are supposed to be priced about what other cylinders are going for now.

the “Sphinx” - 68mm to 74.5 uses the stock size reed and exhaust flange.

60-62RWHP for the 265cc
69-71RWHP for the 314cc
72-74RWHP for the 344cc

the “Puma” - 74.5 to 85mm It will have a larger reed valve, and a larger exhaust flange.

70-73RWHP for the 314cc
76-79RWHP for the 344cc
81-85RWHP for the 409cc

i was thinking they were a little high... i run a pretty aggressive 265, and although i have never dynoed my bike, i know im not anywhere near 62 hp...

i did smoke my buddies 55hp raptor 700 up the hill last weekend though :D

go to patriot racing and speek to dan he is a great guy i saw the first generation cylinder run on a guys 250r at coosbay last memeorial day his name on planet sand is mulletman

him and dan are bigbore hounds and they build sweet motors i can tell you that my ep 265 and my esr 330 with a 2 mill stroke didnt even compare to those bikes in the drags on friday and saturday night
dont know the hp number but alot of big numbers were thrown around parking lot racing

just my 2 cents

Ok, to displell some rumors, the Sabertooth at 496cc's does have plenty of bottom end grunt. How could it not slinging around a 95mm piston! The reliability is something I could not even put into words but the long and short of it is that during my R&D stages of this setup I put 2 years and 800+ dyno runs including countless trips across the country at multiple riding and racing spots...ALL ON THE SAME PISTON AND CRANK! I've replaced the piston once simply due to my concious telling me that It has to be time...when I pulled it the piston still looked pretty good but I replaced it anyhow...everything else including the crank is the origonal I installed back in 2004.

I've built saber motors for everything from mx racers, to flat track/TT racers, to Pikes Peak racers, and of course drag racers. It's got a pretty versitile powerband.

Power can only be described as a cross between a 4 stroke with the low end grunt and a 2 stroke with the arm ripping upper rpm power. My dyno chart I'll post was on alky but it still makes amazing power on gas. I had hit 92 hp and 60 ft/lbs tq on gas about a year ago. I'll do some more pump gas dyno testing shortly.

NICE! That bike looks very fimiliar... alot like a Sabertooth I saw not too long ago at Sicily Island in LA. I doubt it is the same bike, but it is interesting!
