What's the front and back sprocket sizes on a 05 to 07 400ex. Also if anyone put 22" rear tires in the back, did u change the gearing to get first gear low again for tight trails or can u just leave the stock sprockets. Thanks.

14 front 38 rear. If you put 22in tires on your 400ex I would goto a 13T sprocket up front to gear it back down alil.

You think 1 less tooth will do it, or is it a big, noticeable change? Im not too familiar with gearing.

Dropping a tooth up front is like 2 or 3 teeth more in the rear. You could run 13/39 or 40 with 22in tires if you don't think dropping a tooth up front is enough.

Remember:
more teeth up front = more topend
less teeth up front = more bottom end
more teeth in the rear = more bottom end
less teeth in the rear = more topend

o ok I just had it switched around with what sprocket needs more or less teeth for torque. Thanks a lot for the help.

You bet. When i'm telling my friends about gearing they always think i'm wrong when I say smaller sprockets in the rear equals more topend. I have to tell them I know what the hell i'm talking about.
