how loud?

ok so i ordered my HMF slipon and everything but im a little worried about how loud its gonna be. i looked on their website and couldnt find anything decibel wise, does anybody have the specs for it? also how will it compare sound wise to an e-series which is what i had previously and a white bros r-4 which is what my neighbor runs on his 400

HMF is one of the loudest pipes you can buy. i think it is like 105bd but if you get the quiet core it will be like 96bd.

it will be like the r-4 i have one and id like to see what it rates on a sound test id like to see some one with a louder pipe on a 400 :)


iam proud that its so loud but if some one would buy me a quieter pipe id be happy to use the quieter one.

i have a cobra on mine ( i know but i was hard up for cash and i broke my pro circuit) and its preety loud but it just adds charecter to the bike

i thought it was too loud after i put it on. then after about a minute and a half of riding it down my street i loved it

Its 98dbs. Not sure about the bill balance pipe though.

i called them and they said that it is 102 uncorked, and 97 with the spark arrestor/quiet core installed

Mine is 98 dec with the quietcore.

ya, they r a bit on the loud side for most places an where i ride. that is why im going with yosh. good power and 93dec with the quiet core.

I'm guessing you are talking about the hmf sport sliip-on correct? anybody know if its worth going for the ballance edition or is the sport one good enough.

yes its the sport and i think itd be enough. i went from an e-series to this and the gain was still very noticeable but if your going from a stock pipe to it you feel like your on a whole different machine

ive got the hmf full stainless header and muffler and its the loudest ive heard on the mx track so far. The cobra is about the same!
