T4 Question

Hey, I just ordered the t-4 slip on, it will be here thursday!! I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the pipe. Does it have a quiet core from the factory? And if you do have a t-4 do you like it?

I had one and loved it, but it was to loud...

I had the quiet core for it also, used it once and took it out.. kills the pipes performace..

If noise isn't an issue your going to love it :D

Like Leo said, it is loud, but I do mainly nothing but track riding,so it isn't a big deal to me. If you plan on riding in state owned parks and places where this is a chance of people hearing you, then I would look at something else. It does have a great sound though.

All i ride in is the dunes mostly, so noise doesnt matter to me. When you get the pipe is the core already in it? Do i have to remove it? or is it something that is purchased optional?

You have to buy that seperately. Ithink it is like 20.00 or so for the quiet core. I didnt get one. I like loud.

its a great pipe, just wish they made a dual set up, i love the sound i'm sure the people that live around me hate me starting it up and riding it up and down the street at 3am LOL..

I actually had mine re-jetted long before I had it on my EX. I was running a stock exhaust with no spark arrestor, no airbox lid and a 165 main jet, with a K&N and outerware cover. You also have to take into consideration that I am only about 30ft above sea level here. So keep your elevation in mind.

I love my T4. It is a loud pipe. The quiet core (available from Marcums for $28) does make it much quieter, but it also takes away a lot of the power the pipe has. I had to rejet, I'm between 2200 - 2500 feet above sea level. I run a 160 main with stock everything else.

When u rejetted do you have the slip on or full header? Y did you rejet? did u notice it running bad?

I only have the slip-on and I rejetted because I was running lean. I ran a 158 for a while, but then went to a 160 and I think I got it right on this time.

what other mods do you have? I just want to know, so i can dial my quad in to beat my dads :)

My engine is completely stock. I run mine WITH the airbox lid. That's about it. Basically it's a stock EX with a T4 slip-on and a 160 main jet. I run 93 octane pump gas.
