im putting a set of 20s on my 300ex and i really dont want to loose the top speed, what gearing would bring it back up to speed if not a little faster than with stock 22s, thanks

Easiest and cheapest way would be to go to a 14T front sproket. You will have to grind down or remove the case saver though.

i figured i would go up a tooth on the front, i just wasnt sure what the stock teeth# was, so what do these bikes top out at i figured someware around 45-50, it doesnt matter to me much just as long as i keep up with my buddies with out straining when going down the road

Stock gearing is 13/38 I believe. Top speed (stock) is around 55 or so. I've had mine at 63mph according to my GPS with just a aftermarket pipe/filter/jetting and modded airbox lid with stock gearing and 22's.

I have a 13/36 with 20 right now. I didnt lose (well couldent tell) any top speed. But ill soon have a 14T front sprocket.

I'm assuming you had a rev box mod? ;)

55mph was the rev limit hitting w/ stock gearing and 22" tires. Motor work wont increase that without increasing the rev limit.. or upping the gearing.

No rev box mod at all. I'm still running the stock rev box. The 22" tires I had were mud machines which may actually measure a bit over 22" though. Also the accuracy of the GPS depends on how good the signal is so it may have been off by a bit.
