what is the cheapest acceptable axle for semi-serious mx racing. for say a very strong c-class/B-class rider. I am jumping triples and stuff like that

Dura-blue has some cheap stuff and I used it when I just started out in MX. I broke two of their axels in 3 months. I ran lonestar for a while and liked it. That only bent once but I really will only run RPM now. IMO they are the strongest but also most expensive.

G-force are by far the least expensive axle you can buy. They come with a lifetime warranty too.

I have a dura 2+2 eliminator that i have had for 3yrs now.I have never had a problem with it other than the anti fade doesnt stay tight. If you are casing jumps and flat landing all the time any axle will bend,so will cartwheeling down hills, thats no good for a axle either. Its funny when people always say so and so brand isnt any good, theres always 2 sides to every story.;)

Not too much of a story, came of the same tabletop 2 different times and it snapped in the same spot twice then they wouldn't warranty it again. Only about 50' long and you get maby 5' or 6' of air tops.
Here is what a basic search came up with for durablue.

I would reccomend LSR as well. Especially for MX.

But, the Durablue hatred is often slightly skewed.
X-33 is crap I agree.
And the HeavyDuty is a budget axle meant to be an OEM replacement.

I haven't seen too many problems from the Durablue Eliminator though. I've been running mine for 6+ years, w/o issue.

Granted, I've only used it in MHSC (XC), trail, and play MX. And the 300ex is a narrower axle, so I don't put near the forces the B class+ MX'rs do on their 49" wide 450's.

There's always some truth in a sterotype though. ;)

Lonestar would be your best bet.
For the riding you do I would not recomend durablue
