how to make my 250 faster???

anyone no about a big bore kit for my 250ex????
i need it to go faster i got an exhaust a jetkit and some other goodies but it only goes like 60 so any one no wut to do our use???:confused:

You can't really increase the top speed on the 250EX. The only thing you can do is get it to top speed faster (increases acceleration)

The 250EX is shaft-drive. That means you can't change the gearing ratio. If the gearing ratio is fixed, the only way to increase top speed is to increase engine speed. But the 250EX has an RPM limit that it can't go past, so you CAN'T make the engine go faster.

Even if you bump it to 800cc and 55hp, you still can't change the gearing. Sorry to say, but your top speed is set in stone.

Do they make a rev box? You might be able to gain a few with it. More RPMs = More speed (sometimes)

This is probably not what you want to hear but ... I would not put any real amount of money into it. I do not know how old you are but your riding skills will out grow that bike fairly quick.. I met a guy at work with one and we all ride 450r's ..After a few trips to the dunes and the tracks around here he sold it and got a 400ex.. He did not want to invest 15k into a 450r but want more power.. 400ex's are all over for sale and you can add onto them and make good pwer for not a ton of money... If you got to keep reverse look at suzuki they make a good 400..

couldnt have said that better....... umm whats the oldest modle on the 400ex to have elec start and reverse??? wasnt it like 04 05 ??? im not sure

u could put bigger rear tires on it. that would give it more top spd, but it would be more tippy, and won't handle as well.

I believe it was 05, 04 was the last year of the old body style. Which looks better imo.

yup yup well i dont like the idea of getting a rev box because why put more rpm's in the motor than it has i mean i dont wanna blow my engine and ian 14 <morfy> and it got old after the second year and when iam 16 iam planning to get a 450r of a older 400ex cause i hate the new style and i dont care for the new 250's look eather but i like the new 90's thats an improvemwent and it was 05 for the last year of the 400ex with the two bug eyed headlights which looked sweet!!! well in 2 years ill guess il just get a new opne because i got pretty much everything in it but a pair of tires and some other stuff i dont need!! so thanx!

dude if you really want to bore your 4wheeler go buy the POWROLL bore kit, it bores your 4wheeler from 229cc to 249cc but its up to you to bore it out and its not to expensive:rolleyes:
