Is there anyone out there that is a fan of the 4G63T engines especially in the Mitsu GSXs? Haven't ever owned or driven one but all the things I've heard from it are good, I've been reading up on them for about 2 years now. I'm gonna be driven the Sonata for now, but when the time comes I'm gonna buy one. Is there any place near South Western Pa that specializes in selling GSXs? Post up pictures of your 4G63Ts, and the modifications.

yea really good, all the ones ive been around blow up once a week or never run. I would probably never own one of those cars because of the POOR reliability, unless it was kept stock, but they do run good when they run.

This quote may be true to some extent. But, DSm's are reliable if proper maintenance is done. Many people buy these cars, and immediantly skip all the maintenance stuff like replacing hoses and belts, and start to mod. This is when stuff breaks and DSm's get a bad rep. Keep in mind these cars are at least 7 years old and most have alot of miles.

True. But I have had a few buddies that have had them and I still wouldnt say there the most reliable motor.

Are you speaking from experience or heresay? I haven't had any problems with my '96 Mitsubishi EVO IV. EVO IV's were the first cars to get the RH side timing belt 4G63 motors.

I also know quite a few people who own or have owned EVOI-III's (same setup as the Eclipse but with more power) without any problems.

I have a buddy that is building a 2.4L in his 1G AWD Talon and I must say it should be wicked. Last time he ran at the strip he ran a 12.6 with only basic mods like an old school 20G turbo, GM translator, an RFL blow-off, external wastegate, 3inch exhaust all the way, larger intercooler, larger 880cc injectors and no suspension work. He knows these engines inside and out. He tunes them himself. I would like to have a Galant VR4 sleeper!!

Open filter with 2" piping from turbo. I don't have a datalogger so i couldn't tell you the Air/ fuel ratio. logger is next on my list.

Yeah the loggers are nice...so are SAFC's!! Loggers can tell lots of stuff like how many counts of knock your getting, AFR and a few other things.

a few guys at the shop i work at have DSM's, some pretth fast ones too. one guy has a 1G AWD that will be running 9's once he gets his tranny figured out (bought an electric shift race built auto but it wont shift right) he might just put a dog box into it.

the guys at the shop have a lot of experience with DSM's and they said the biggest problem with them is the stock M/T's cant handle mods and they break.

heres some pics of the 1G AWD, theyre a little older but you get the idea

I think there is a place that can redo the stock Manual Trans and use Titanium double synchros in 1st and 2nd gears... something like that anyways. The Dogbox is what Sheppard runs in his I believe.
