OEM service manual calls for 100-130 psi. The auto-decompression mechanism on the stock cam is responsible for that low range. An aftermarket cam with no auto-decomp will create a much higher reading.

Thanks for the info. This is my 3rd 400 of my 15 or so machines.I got this 02 off a friend at work for $500.He rolled it and wasted the steering stem and ovaled the front rims(wheelie wipe out).I got it running and great after sitting for almost 2 years outside and he gave new rear plastics and a new front master cylinder. So i'm psyched for the deal and to rip my 4 kids around with me.
