Putting fresh crank and bearings into my 04 450r, I installed the left side flywheel bearing into the case, then tried putting the crank into it, but thats not going to work, took the crank back out, froze it overnight so it would shrink a few thousands, pulled the bearing back out of the case and then tried getting it on the crank first but still no luck. Any ideas? I really dont like the idea of putting my new crank under a press to get this bearing on.

your on the right track, freeze the bearing, then warm up the case. you can use a hand held bottle torch. dont burn it, just heat the case a little. put a little bit of oil on the outer race of the bearing

the assembly will drop right in

bearing onto shaft: heat bearing, do not burn it. it will drop onto room temp shaft. bearing heater, if you have 1, or you can put in oil bath then heat to 275, or last resort use a bottle torch, but be carefull not to burn or discolor bearing.

bearing already on shaft: freeze bearing and shaft, then heat the case

you can gently tap the inner race if nessasary, never hit the outer race of a bearing.

hope it helps.....
