I need a new battery for my 400ex. I did a search and found that I could use a yuasa yt12abs battery. My question is, do they sell them at a honda dealer. I don't have any other kind of dealer around that's close.

is there an advantage to that battery over the stock battery?

do you have a battery tender......they are worth the money

I have a yt12ab-s in my quad. They have 175cca as opposed to the stockers approx 120.

Call C&D racing, thats where I got mine.

On a modified engine they help to overcome high compression w/o a compression release.

mine is 175, start if i just tap it real quick. works great, can deff tell the difference.

I have a battery out of a street bike. I belive it is out of a Kawi 750. Don't quote me though

Hey guys, thanks for the quick replies. I went out last night and got the upgraded battery. The yuasa YT12A-BS. After putting it in after charging it, You can tell a difference when you hear the starter. It was also alittle cool out today and it spun it over with no problem. I really like it a fits just the same as stock.

You could've gone down to the Interstate dealer (among others) and they make them too. They might have to order it but since you've already bought one, this is just FWIW.

A little caveat, on my Suzuki 500 they wanted $150 (or so I don't remember) but the guy checked the dimensions and found me another one that was a half inch shorter, otherwise identical, for half that. Again, FWIW.

i just went to walmart and picked up a new battery alot cheaper then your local honda dealer....

the part number is es9bs

its a everstart battery

same dimensions as stock..same cca....

just cheaper

plenty!

all i had to do is charge it for a bit and since then NEVER had a problems starts everytime....

walmart also had them in stock!

i just looked at the box that it came in so get the same part number....

FITS GREAT just like the stock battery dimensions.....

yes cca means cold cranking amps

mine is 175 cca ( cold cranking amps ).....

see here you say it is same as stock then two posts down you say it has 175cca ....

so what one is it and how much was it?
