yeh i asked this in the powertrain column but i figured this would be a little more appropriate...i just got an '87 250R that has boysen reeds, its been ported but has the stock exhaust  lol don't ask me why...i can't get ahold of him to see what exhaust he had on it so tell me....what pipe puts out the best power for woods and field riding...basically power throughout the entire rpm scale...thanks

Here are a couple of campanys that make the best pipes for the 250r (most prople think so, depends who you ask).
They give a description of what each pipe is for and what it does.

paul turner TRX race or ESR trx5, are going to be your best bets. FMF golds are also very good pipes for the money. someone is guaranteed to say sparks TT or MX but theyre not that available, and youll be fine with one of the above.

SleepinR - I see you are from Moundsville, WV. I have relatives from there and I visit once in awhile. Do you go to Fish Creek? How about the place beside the river, behind Long John Silvers and DQ?

My cousin has a 450R now, used to have the 400EX.

what exactly is the big difference between the TT sparks pipe and the MX sparks pipe....howe does it affect the power(lower, mid, top)?

The TT is more topend power, the MX pipe has more low end grunt. I have the TT and love it.

Does anyone know for sure if you can get a sparks pipe from Terry's and has anyone ever dealt with them before.

The link on the post above shows it as them having it. You would have to call them up to see if they actually have it.

paul turners one of the best. just run the silencer that goes with the pipe, its easiest that way. unless you find a great deal and want to mix and match.

ok do this... Get the esr trx5 centermount pipe... Here's a pic of the pipe on my bike. You cant see the silencer in the pic because its a centermount so it's under the seat. Looks trick from behind.
