We had such a great time riding at Clay Peak MX Park last week end, we decided to get some of out good freinds all together and have a group ride
We had around 17 riders show up ,riders from all ages come to play ,some drove 2 hour drive to come share the fun.

The track was absolutely brutal, probably the worse Ive ever seen it, but great for race training:macho
My Son Brandon was asked to ride abit more mellow this week(breaking in a piston) LILQJ took off with my quad, left me with the Blaster   then I stole the 450r from Troy ,OMG... I have never rode it on such rough terrain and the suspention felt AMAZING!! I was so jealous, Ive got to work on getting myself a new ride of my own next season:( In the meantime, Ill share cause Im feeling spoiled on it already!:D

the weather was beautiful, couldnt ask for more perfect weather.Good freinds, good riding... what more can you ask for?? :)

Heres some pics of todays ride .

Are you using the cameras continuos focus?

Maybe try using a slightly smaller aperature (f 5.6 or f8)?

Just from the pics, id have been at 400 film speed, and bounced between 2.8 and f8 (i know your wanting great results, i didnt mean to intrude on the thread) the pics are looking better each time you go out!

try setting the camera on TV (shutter priority) at around 500(I shoot at 2000 or higher!) and let it do the metering. turn on the continuos focus and aim at the handle bars. remember that the focus area extends slightly infront of your aiming point, so if your going for the bumper you are giving up some area that could potentially be crisp in other areas of the quad

My lense is an f4-5.6 75-300 :(
I tried TV mode(I mainly use that one around 400,Ill try 500 next time) I tried it at 200 for chits and giggles-NOT!!!:p I have no IS either so you can imagine the blur I had! lol
I used AP priority yesterday mainly, I liked it as the last state race I done ,but I also didnt have all the dust we had yesterday.
I have the focus set to Al Servo. Thats the setting I need, correct?? thats for moving objects.
Thank you Pappy for the advice, I appreciate it ;)

Yes, on the canon I believe thats the follow focus.

most of my shots are between 2.8 and f4 and well over 2000 on the shutter speed. even with out an IS lens this will handle the shakes!

dust...worst thing for crips pics as it scatters the camera's metering into skitzo mode:p

I used to use the Aperature priority mode, but find a consistant shutter speed set to ATLEAST the longest focal length of the lens(400 shutter speed on your 300mm) will go along way in helping get crisp shots!

Also, try to not shoot at a full 300 zoom! even with my bigzooms, i shoot mostly at 105mm

I THINK I have it figured out what it is....
I think some of it has to do with an "ad blocking" type of level. At certain sizes ,the sites I visit might see this as a banner, so it blocks it .

Ill reduce the size next time and see if that helps.
