Well, the other weekend I was at Pismo and my head started to leak a little bit. It was my first day there so I was not gonna let the weekend go by so I just tightend it down and rode for the rest of the weekend.

When I got home I figured I would try to up the compression a little so i split the three piece design and used one of the outer metal gaskets. I started the bike and let it warm up then I checked the compression. It was at 210psi.

I have 2parts of the 3piece gasket and 1 89cr style oem metal gasket. Could I use the rest of the 3piece and the cr gasket to make a new 3piece one. What are your suggestions?

try the cr gasket and see where that puts the psi's. if its still too hi go with the center of the oem 3 layer.

be sure that all surfaces are VERY clean and that you use some sort of sealant. otherwise your asking for leaks.

the way i clean my gasket is to use FINE grit paper, then clean all surfaces with Acetone.
