View Full Version : Broke frame and back shock...

lol yeah went riding today and prolly less than half an hour being there i did about 3 jumps and on the third one I over shot it. Bottomed out and the spot where the bottom of the shock hooks onto the frame broke off(bolt survived) and then the shock popped out and broke on the ground. Luckly my dad knows how to weld and we had an extra shock =P


This happen to anyone else?

What kind of quad do you have? Sounds like you hit hard as hell.

honda 400ex and yeah it just bottomed out and bam i was skidding to a stop lol

I have bottomed out pretty hard before and this has never happened. Do you have a pic of the jump?

I went from the blue line to right around the red line.

wow that looks like a fun jump, stinks about your quad though. Atleast you can fix it pretty easily.

that sucks! where was that pic taken at? that looks a lot like a place i rode once.

It's a big wooded place by the missouri river in St Louis, Missouri. Technicaly no ones suppost to ride back there but all the neighbors dont really care so its cool...its a pretty big place too, with trails going for miles down the river(just trails tho there is only one simi-big place with jumps and hillclimbs)

just a stock one =/ i want to get my motor bored out and stuff BUT i need suspention before that and well i dont have a job so my parents would have to pay for it...

well accually the bottom of the frame where the shock connects to broke(thats really thin so im not supprised) and so the shock broke off there and hit the ground really hard. well thats what i think

are you putting the stock one back on or aftermarket

i wish i had aftermarket shocks...but no i put on an extra stock shock we had.

i feel yah i wish i had the money to buy aftermarket shocks
