Crawfordsville, IN - After another incredible year of GNCC racing, the final round of racing is upon us, and thousands of spectators and racers converge in Crawfordsville, IN for the “Ironman.” The Ironman has long been the last stop on the GNCC tour, and it is also one of the highest attendant events of the year and with the rain out the picture for Friday and Saturday, it should be a great weekend for ATV racing.

Many arrived early Friday to start preparing for Saturday, and there were plenty of vendors and spectators gathering on vendors row.

Many of the Top Pros prepared their 2006 Race Quads for the last race of the year with Forsale signs popping up along Pro Row like dandy lions, and Bryan Cook is letting his race ready Honda go for a bargain at only $8,700

Admin
10-20-2006, 09:42 PM
Bryan Baker has his Green Machine up forsale as well for only $8,500

Pat Brown is back for another round of GNCC racing, and this time he finally has his YFZ450 completely setup for cross country racing, and if he doesn't run into problems, I expect to see him in the top 10.

Traci Cecco will be back racing in the Morning Race with the #1 Plate this weekend and she was busy plastering all her fellow Yamaha racer ATVs with her commemorative 5th Championship Stickers.

Johnny Gallagher won't be wearing pink this year, but he will be strapping on a Pink Energizer Bunny to his Honda in hopes it will keep him going and going to the finish line.

Polaris has delivered several brand new Outlaw 525 machines with the high performance KTM engines, and these beast have some major get up and go, and with a 30 pound diet with the new engine, expect to see a few of these near the front of the pack in the morning especially with Cain Smead and John Gallagher behind the handlebars.

John Gallagher Sr with be representing ATVRiders.com on the Outlaw 525, and I had an oppurtunity to ride the all new Outlaw today, and it was a blast to ride through the woods. Not only does it have plenty of power, it appears Polaris has narrowed up the front end for 2007 because I seemed to be able to dice my way through the trees which ease, but I will check on the specs tomorrow to verify my speculation.

Updated - It was narrower because John Gallagher had installed custom front hubs, which did narrow up the front end over 2", so I assumed correctly, but it was not a factory change. Sorry for any confusion.

John Gallagher Sr ripping it up for a quick photo shoot.

The extra ground clearance of the Polaris Outlaw at the Ironman will provide a huge advantage because this track normally ruts up fairly quick and has some rock gardens as well along the creek bed.

Yamaha is also in attendance showing off their 2007 models, and they are ready to celebrate Bill Ballance's7th National Championship along with Traci Cecco's 5th Women's Championship.

To kick of the weekend, we headed out the to Indy to do some gokart racing, and Bill Ballance was once again up for the challenge.

Admin

Bill Ballance wasted no time in dialing in the track, but his mechanic Elliot was also putting some impressive laptimes as well

Admin
10-20-2006, 09:59 PM
Pat Brown came out as well and was my teammate in a 1.5 hour race along with Miss Powermadd Jessica.

There was plenty of banging and spin outs on the track with a few black flags, but everyone was having a blast. Ofcourse there were also a few brawls in the pits as well among teams.

Actually the fight was staged for the local indy television show and Johnny Gallagher and Jerrod Kelley was up to the challenge.

Admin
10-20-2006, 10:03 PM
When the Checkered flag came out, ofcourse it was Bill Ballance Racing taking the win with Travis Hollins at the wheel for the final lap of the race.

Really was an awesome time and a great race. Johnson getting the holeshot made all us Missouri fans go nutso! And then to get the #3 plate for the year was just icing on the cake.

To everyone that missed me helping with the live coverage Thanks for making me feel special:D I hope to continue next year. I wish I would have carried the cell phone with me but I left it in the truck. Met lots of new people and plenty of old friends so my day really rocked!! Can't wait for 2007 and what the new year will have instore for all us fans and racers!!!
