dont get an FMF they are pretty bad pipes. and if your trail ridding i wouldnt get a K&N go with an UNI. no one makes a 330 kit for a recon, you can probably get away with any bore kit/cams for a 250ex they are the same motor

K&N are for street and sand, you want a foam filter in the woods, easier to clean and they just filter better, for the wet stuff you will get into in the woods ect

hmm i thought they were identical motors, mabe you could build a recon with a 250ex top end? it would be a very unique design, not worth the money in any way but it would be unique. to be completly honest with you if you want power ect you should think about a new bike completly the recon doenst have alot of potential in the power or suspention department, so you can mod it but not really go anyware with it

 not even close, it doesnt even matter the recons stock filter is fine, its not like that 220-230cc beast is suckin in much air anyway, but it might as well be clean air. K&N and UNI will BOTH flow more air than the motor will suck. buying a K&N AND an outerware is pointless, when K&N is over priced to begin with and then ad an outerware?? that bring your total to about 50 bucks or more. when you can spend half of that on a better IMO filter plus when it comes time to cleaning that filter your gonna be alot happier when you have an UNI. actually they are 229 cc's. I think 05 plus years have the same valve design as the 250ex's. I also think that i read on the hmf forum that the hmf pipe for the 250ex will not fit on the recon because the plastic gets in the way.
