which Fuel should i race? i used to tae with 50/50 mix of Turbo Blue ( shell 110 octane race gas ) because our local shell station has a pump with turbo blue that is 110 octane but i went more compression up to 12.5 to 1 with hotcam stage 2 and full system exhaust i was thinking of runnin VP C12 will that be too much or not enough or what? thanks much

all you guys on here are a big help lets keep this thing going!!!

well you can go up to 12:1 on pump gas ( 91 octane ) so it your mixxing 50/50, woth some 110, you shouldn't have any problems with a 12.5:1

My 10.8:1 400EX knocks with the locally available 91 pump fuel. The static compression ratio of the piston isn't the only factor regarding detonation. There's lots of other considerations.

I've found experimentation with the engine and fuels in question is the only sure-fire answer to an engine's minimum required octane. If the combination you're testing isn't detonating (it's pretty easy to audibly detect in an EX) under the highest load situations then your good to go as far as octane rating.

That said, C12's 108 MON is very likely to perform well with most high-comp settups.
