ok im adjusting the vales and my feeler gauge only goes to .005in and i need .004in, do i need a special feeler gauge?

You could just use the .005. .001 on the loose side is ok. Most valve specs are +/- .001 anyway.

On the other hand, you can just get a new set (at most any autoparts store)--they don't cost all that much. There's nothing special about a feeler guage set that goes smaller than .005.
