new car!! 01-jetta

well im pickin this thing up tommorrow (thursday). i got a really good deal on it. plus i got my frame and a-arms back from pappy so today has been sweet!

its a 2001 jetta 1.8t wolfsberg edition.

what the heck does wolfsberg editions mean?

different wheels,better suspension,sway bars,different interior, and some other work.

all that means if you were to buy it new it would cost alot more.

I like it man, Except all the Jettas I've been in and worked in seem to have really crappy interiors..I don't know if yours is like this but they do look nice just that seems like crappy materials, plastic, etc. :ermm:

ya the dash is plastic, i dont mind it all that much, i think it looks alot better. first mods will be an exhaust, some black wheels, chip,intake.

actually i need to know alot of info about them, i got it from a friends whos parents own a vw dealership here so they know some stuff, but ask him a couple quesitons for him.

whats a good chip for it?
good intake?
full exhaust with headers, or cat back?

hey man nice car! i have a 2003 GTI that i made into a sleeper (golf parts) if u want info on it go to VWvortex.com and also go suspension befor any other mods... gow ith coilovers or a cup kit.. then go with techtonics exhaust with Borla muffler and GIAC chip.. u will love it euro tuning is addicting!

ya, i cant wait to start modding it, but right now im in too much of a financial crunch so ill have to wait a couple months or so to start buying stuff for it, plus with the snow we get in buffalo, i think im just gonna wait so nothing gets ruined.

it said the wolfsberg edition came with upgraded suspension, but im not sure how much better it is seeing as how ive never driven a stock suspension jetta.

freind has the same thing witht he turbo, it pretty sweet and nice interior, and every thing, his has like 75 k miles on it though, wen in it for the first time today, he got his license yesterday,

Those diesel Jetta's get incredible fuel mileage. I've heard upwards of 40-50 miles to the gallon. Makes me wonder why there aren't more diesel engines in cars and small pickups.

the wolfie doesnt come with upgraded suspension.. the springs jsut have a softer spring rate to give it a plusher ride.... coilovers will give u a nice drop to eliminate the 4X4 mode that stock VW's come with... my coils are sitting in my garage right nwo till winter is over

the wolfsberg is just an interior package.

my buddy has a set of drop springs for $150 that i might buy for next year, along with an intake.

im just gonna wait till winter is over till i drop it and put some rims on it.

the springs are good but u need to get new shocks with it aswell or u can damage ur stock shocks after a couple houndred of miles on them...

as for an intake... i have an AEM and LOVE IT! the installment was easy and it makes a big diffrence in gas millage... plus it sounds great!:macho

a bunch of us from buffalo came down.

i didnt make it because i had a race, but now that i own a vw i plan on making it next year.

there was a blue r32,corrado's,1.8t's, and an older rabbit.

i got the car at 4 today so ive been driving non stop, we went to my buddies house, whos parents own the dealership and he said he was gonna put an exhaust on it for free tommorrow, so im pretty happy, another day of non stop driving......yes
