can I run w/o "thermo unit"

I just broke the little tab off the temp sensor on my 04 450r motor. Can I run without it hooked up untill my new one comes in? This must be somewhat common for people who disconect the wire often.

Only troble I see not having it hooked into the wiring is that the temp sensor and fan wont work. If so thats not a problem, I havent been runing a fan and it has been cold out and my temp light hasent come on in a long time.

Ya your fan just will not come on.

Correct. I replaced mine, little things are expensive, like 27 bucks.

All you have to do is ground the wire that plugs into it and the fan will run all the time.

I have mine wired direct. It runs as soon as I start my quad.

From what my mechanic has told me, the unit is there for a reason, so having it running all the time is not such a good idea.

Ya it is just fine to run it that way, the thermostat will keep the motor at proper temp

I run with no fan or thermostat so whatcha think about that..
