I just took some pictures of my quad with since I added the Elka Suspension and Houser long travel a-arms. The new setup compared to stock is incrediblely better! It is like riding a totally different machine. I got a good deal on all my parts from Scott (Crypted1 on this board) at www.fullthrottlemx.com and he helped me get the setup right - if you want expert help and awesome prices check him out.

Yeah Scott is great. That`s where I got my Shocks and plan to buy all the Parts I can from him. That is a very nice looking 400. What all is done to it?

What kind of racing are you setting the quad up for? I really cant tell. With the arms i would think MX. With the tires i would think XC.

Thanks for looking at the pics :) The quad was originally a trails machine - thus the beefy tires. I am more interested in riding motocross now (I just started racing this year), so I am slowy getting all the pieces together as I can afford. I am starting with the chassis & suspension. The next steps are (probably in the order they will be done):

19x6x10 MX Holeshots for the front and 18x11x9 MX Holeshots for the rear (until then I replaced the counter sprocket with a 13T to compensate for the larger tires), AC Racing Pro Nerfs (the DG ones suck), a new axle, a Houser swing arm, & revalve or replace the rear shock.

The modifications I have made so far that I plan on keeping are:
Gussetted & Powder Coated Frame
Houser +2 a-arms & Elka suspension
Douglas Wheels
PRM bumper & skid plates
Rental bars
Pro-Design Kill Switch
K&N filter & Outerwears

What do you guys think are other important chassis & suspension mods that I haven't mentioned?

Heck the only other things I can think of are a Steering Stem and Axle Carrier.

He had the Axle listed and as for the Axle I would get a RPM as for the Axle Carrier too.

mmiller678, on your tires. I would go for the 20" MX's. I switched from the 19s to the 20s and my quad handled much better, and alot smoother. Just my .02

crhye250r - thanks for the tip. I wasn't really sure which size to go with, but it sounds like I will go with the 20" fronts as you suggest. :)
