I'm thinking somewhere around $4000-$5000

if you decide to part it out at all I would definatly like to know how much you want for the tcs front shocks...

Actually 14:38 gearing takes away from top end and increasing bottom end. I would say your top speed would be about 60 if that. Now if you run a 16 up front you would probably be able to hit 75. You can virtually make your top speed anything you want by tweaking your gearing. go 16:36 you'll hit that 80 mark. What really matters isn't your top speed it's how fast your motor will get you to that top speed cause even a stock 400ex with that gearing will do that speed with enough road to go down, the difference is yours will get there faster with much better acceleration. In terms of motor work your is similiar to mine, i'd imagine yours you could sell for about $4000. More if you have aftermarket suspension and other components such as gusseted frame, misc. billet stuff, etc. Then probably hit that $5000 mark maybe more. The fact is 400ex just don't compete no more and have a lot less demand. Your best bet in terms of the money you put into it, is to just keep it. I am keeping mine, and hopefully getting that new Kawi 450 once it's out. Have a race ready 400ex and the best stock race quad on the market.

i have the aftermarket tcs(total control susspension)front and back with remote resivoirs and sag control option and eibach spring

16:36 would make me do about a 110 down a long road

the 14:38 i have is torque and it revs out 11000rpm with 20 inch tires. trust me my 440 does atleast 70 i had it goin g about its fastest the other day and id say it was near 80 or mid 70s

A quad with 30 hp and 14/38 gearing is going to top out at the same exact speed as a quad with 45hp and 14/38 gearing.

Don't get me wrong your quad is prolly faster tha S*** because its a DRI 440 motor but as far as top speed it's impossible to go 80 with that gearing and tire selection.

Who really cares how fast your quad will go? Top speed means absloutly nothing in the scheme of things.

I'm sure it's a nasty quad, but using top speed as a selling point is a lil retarded. Anywho, let's see some pics...

gears are also a way of speeding things up or or making them pull loads instantly.

a lower gear ratio will increase top end (actual ratios: 2.72...etc) not 14:38. on the other hand higher gear ratios like 5.33 will create super torque with no top end what so ever. obviously we all know this.

im certain that 80mph can easily be acheived with my 440ex by simply adding 2 teeth to my front sprocket but granted i will lose some torque. (not motorwise) rear wheel torque that is. too much torque with nice mid for me right now over top end and top end is what i want a lot of, to pass anything on the stretches.

the 465cc stroker and os valves and valve work, with the stroker cam, nos and the rest of my mods should create an even more amazing response from the low end torque. thus giving me the super low torque to carry a lower ratiosuch as 2.38. if i knew the axact trny ratio in every gear 1-5 i could tell you almost exactly how fast it in every gear. hers the rear wheel calculator check the link out. youll find it interesting and helpfull if your not aware of the effects of gearing.

right now with noone on it my quad will do 80mph....lol

does anyone know what the transmissions gear ratios are for 03 400ex gears 1 - 5

also does anyone know how to tell what the extra 25cc would do as far as hp goes

Currently I run 15:36 gearing with 20" 8 paddle haulers. I mostly ride at Glamis. When I hit the MX track I run 16:36 on 18 inch turf tamers. With my current gears I probably hit 75 or close to 80, but then again I've never been clocked so couldn't tell you exactly, I am just guessing.

has anyone ever ran 16:38 down the street\stretch\drag in 5th gear wound out for a few seconds as fast as the quad or bike will possibly go. if so how fast would you say you were going?

i could be wrong but i thought going up 2 in the front would be like dropping 6 in the back which is a major top end speed increase for an atv. i think with my 440 and 16:38 itll do 110 with a ghost and 90-100ish with me. what are your thoughts

and what would you be willing to pay for 440ex modded like mine.

pictures are coming soon ill buy a camera.
