For head on drag,the 700 will win on top speed. For MX, the 450 would probably win

i raced a rappy 700r on pavement and beat him 5/6 times to 300ft, but he would pass me after that, a bit after i topped out, so on an mx track id give the nod to the 450r if the riders were about equal because the low -mid power difference and the better suspension

Well my friend has a 700raptor with a hmf exhaust and a different programmer and I have the mods listed in my signature. I can pull on him a little in midrange but they are very close. As far as handling the 450 will destroy it.

i ride up at my uncles house, me and my cousin race mx, and we trade weekends going back and forth, he lives in st lawrence cty, on the track, with my TLD predator, my preddy eats him....on the road, the raptor pulls me until 3rd, than its anybodys race.......top speed wise, were close, but with stock gearing on my preddy, the raptor would definately take it.

It will be the best rider that wins on a MX track no doubt. The top speed of your machine doesnt mean jack S on a Mx track. Most of the time your in 3rd and 4rth gear any ways.

why would u compare a 440 to a 450 let alone a 700 everyone says how a 450 r tork so good u dont know what tork is untell u drive a 700r ive drove a 450 (06) and a (04) and to tell u the truth i like the 04 better power and handling everyone says the suck at handling its true 04 way better and about a 700r vs 450 he drops the clutch i hold it bit longer and hes not as fast as they think almost side by side everytime at 300ft and he beat me probley 2 times more at 300 feet then i beat him and i droped the clutch one pulled a wheelie and it whent towards him and i let of a bit and still beat him that time to the 300 and after 300 the 450 dont stand a chance may as well shut it down

Id take a 700 over a 450, but ill be getting a 450 because the wallet situation.

Oh and by the way, kyle beats a 450 with ease on his stock 400. On the track. ( kyle vs roundsy)

I actually think if you set a raptor 700 up suspension wise and with good a-arms and a axle, it would wreck a 450r on a track....an 06 that is

We must NOT be talking about 450rs.

As for racing, I have numerous buddies with 700 Raptors, and both of my 450s leave them. They handle MUCH better as well. I am not the guy to hate on a bike, that is just from my experiences... hell, at one time I was gonna get a 700 to build as a drag bike... I will admit, they are great for that.

As for the question, like most have said, the bike with the best rider will win the race, especially on an MX track. Bike for bike, the 450s should be easier to handle the track with, but as with most things, that is personal opinion as well.

hey roundsy we never raced to 1000ft we raced to 300 and 500 and then the corner i beat u every time to the corner
and 500ft u beat me twice and 300ft u didnt beat me 5/6 times and when u did beat me i was side by side with u and u beat me by about a tire and i had 22inch tires on 2 which takes away bottom end. and u payed $200 or more than me and i got 250cc more and have a way better quad everyone says they would rather have a 700 over a 450 and i let kyle smith drive it and hes drove 2 or 3 450 and he says the 700 has way more power bottom and top and in order to beat the best u should buy the best

and about track buy the 07 with the 450 shocks and get a wider rear axle and ur good rappy has same aarms as yfz and for 07 they got the same piggy back shocks

Here it is stright foward kid. The one that wins is the one that is the most comforbly on the quad. Dont go and spend 7-8 grand on a quad just because someone told you to. Try them out.

I have an 02' 440ex (mods in sig)...and my dads 06'rappy 700 has a k&n filter, full hmf system and a pro-flow kit...plus the power tuner thingy.

in a drag race he gets me by about 3 lengths every time...in 660ft. But on an mx track i can own him...i have nothing to do with 450's...seeings how i cant catch the mother fuc**rs:blah: :ermm:

correct you beat me to the corner every time but thats a mile and you have more top end, ill agree with ya there, but go measure again if you think its 300 and 500 ft, it was 3 and 5 hydro poles correct? i know you'll agree with that, but theres 200 ft between poles, which would then mean 600 and 1000ft, and it was at 600 ft that we were side by side too close to call, but i had you 5/6 times to 300ft (1 and a half poles) if you are unhappy with this correct post, we can race again with a crowd and unbiased judges to 300 ft...and it doesnt matter if i payed more and you think i got less, i am happy with what i bought and you are happy with your raptor, is that not enough?...sorry for the long post, just wanted to set the record straight

there was a crowd, and you lost to the fifth hydro pole so you lost the race, and correct me if im wrong, hydro poles are spaced 120ft

just got back from the dunes for the 1st trip of the season... it was a blast, and its a beautiful thing that it is dune season around here again... we went to buttercup of the imperial dunes...

anywho...

the one thing i do enjoy about the offseason, is you do kinda forget how fast you were/are and how fast others are... and then you get to go see when you go back... we met up with a huge group, and one of my buddies that rode with me has an 06 raptor, with full HMF pipe, he's got the computer re-mapper thing, a pro desing K&N, and i think that is about it... he went and had it dyno tuned and everything and supposedly it dyoed at like 55 (suspect). so he was talking a little trash on the way down joking around, and i was thinking that he may possibly beat me... the whoops werent bad at all, which was good to take away a lot of the rider advantage as i wanted to see how is raptor would fair with all he had done to it... we raced 30+ times over the course of the day... every time that i actually had a decent run or didnt completely miss a shift, i won. what surprised me was whether i was in front of him, or behind him on the hill, i was either pulling away or catching him... there were multiple occasion where i was missing 4th, and he would get a bike length on me, and i would pull him and over take him before the top of the hill...

i must say though, that i rode it for a while, and was impressed with it. its a nice bike...

Since all you guys are bashing eachother, why don't we all go out and race just for kicks. Like who cares if you lose or win, just ride and have fun with your machine.

If you guys want to race, then race...300ft, and 400ft just for you 4 stroke guys. All this thread is is a pissing match, instead of argueing about who won, go out and race again. And this time Josh and I will come out and video tape it

But, i know that you are a better dragger than brad. Put 2 equal riders and the 450 will be dusted.
