05 450R fenders on 86 250R?

Can we retrofit my friends '86 TRX250R with the fenders from my 05 TRX450R?

I'm sure that with some major work I could make my GMC truck body fit a Toyota truck but I would perfer not too.

We do know that the 400EX fenders work with the 250R but I can't imagine that someone hasn't tried this yet. My fenders and tank are free to him so if we can we are hoping that this will work.

We will have to use my fuel tank on his machine, does anyone know if it will fit? 450R fuel tank on 250R?

Any help everyone can give use will be greatly appreciated!

Anythings possible. Youll have to make your own brackets and the 450 tank would have to be used to make it look right, but idk why youd want to make a 250r look like a 4 stroke:confused:

His original plastic is nasty, the original owner spray-painted them and they have cracks etc. We are just thinking of a cheap alternative instead of purchasing a new set.

Since I'm going to the white '07 fenders and IMS white larger tank we thought it might be neat to use my old stuff on his R.

If it looks like it will be a pain in the rear then he's just going to go with new 250R plastic.

I was just wondering if anyone had done this yet or if it was even worth the effort, it's sounding like it isn't and he'll be getting new 250R fenders.

i tried doing this...just getting the tank to fit was way too much hassle so i'd say go with either 400ex plastic or get some good R plastic.
