How hard is it to do a complete rebuild a engine? What are some of the tools you might need to do a complete rebuild?

pretty simple just follow the manual, its easiest to tare the motor out of the bike when you do it. for a 300 pretty much the only tools you need for the whole bike is

allen wrenchs (forget which size)
8mm
10mm
12mm
14mm
17mm
flat head
philips head
12mm wrench
wratchet
some extentions

with those you can basically take the entire bike apart, you will need a torque wrench to put it back together, dont guess on torque you will just break bolts off. make sure you have a service manual, it will tell you everything you need to know, its pretty straight forward

also, if you get into trouble just drop it off at a honda shop, if the motor is out of the bike the prices are really cheap, they quoted me at $75 for a top end rebuild (labor only) if it was the whole bike you would be looking at 200+
