does any1 no how to get the bead to set evenly on my douglas beadlocks? every time i put air in them the bead dosent set evenly so when i ride it, it feels like a bent rim. is the problem that i have 6ply holeshot hds? thanxs

It is the damn tires. the holeshot tires are to small in diameter.

I had to cut mine with a razor blade around the bead to get them somewhat centered.

How does it not seat evenly? If its not even, then its probably not seated. Beadlocks are no different than any other rim, other than its much easier to mount/dismount the tires.:rolleyes:

You have to really put a lot of air in them to get them to seat. I was surprized how much air it took.

ya there spose 2 b easier but im having serious troubles. i put 36 psi in them an they " popped" on. but then when i drain the air to what i run them at the rim is not seat evenly so i dont no how to fix that problem. what kind of tires are you guys runing on beadlocks?

I had the HD's but just switched to mxr6's because I'm doing mostly mx tracks now.

i installed my hole shots on bead locks 1 year ago.i didn't have any problems.the bead of the tire before u install the ring need to be in place properly.

well kinda hard 2 explain but ill do my best. first of all i had someone mount them for me and they put the tire over the lil lip that the bead lock bolts down to. so the tire was to far on the rim and preatty much defeating the hole purpose of a beadlock the way they had it. but now that i took the tire off an put it where it belongs the beadlock rings bolts up niicely and the tires are centered. hope that makes cents

yeah that's pretty funny,because the first time i mounted my bead locks i did the same thing:D

ya it sucks took me a lil while to figure it out 2. but there all bolted up and i just need to mount them to my quad
