ok, I have saved up the cash and I want a full exhaust system for.

1. sound
2. looks
3. performance

(in that order)
I have pretty much narrowed it down to these two.

between the two I dont think there is a bad choice but which is better ?

I like to drag race, play on the mx track, and trail ride with the kids.

I do thank you for any help or advise you can give.

I'd go with DASA...but I'm a bit biased...because I'm buying one soon :) ... FYI: The DASA makes better numbers....

I have owned 3 pipes so far. Hmf ballance, Sparks big core and Dasa now.
By far I prefer the performance and sound of Dasa!

Where is the cheapest place to get one?

Well, I haven't seen a dyno of both on an '06 or '07 so unless someone know's where one might be I will have to do it myself. I currently have a Rossier on my '06 and and have a Dasa on the way for testing. I will let you know the results.

thank you for your help.......
Im going Dasa, and gt thunder shocks
I should be able to do both for under 1500
maybe I will have enough for a set of nerfs too.

Just curious how you know that it makes better numbers?

Runs done on the:

same day
same temp
same bike
same mods

red=dasa
blue=rossier
green=ron woods

buck naked-r

its not the same day but the temp and everything was close...look at the a/f

and the topend increase is the same as the other graft

its clear to me that the dasa pulls better on top

dyno and butt dyno proven

and theres some G-man on the org that said this a/f is to far off to be a good test:rolleyes:
it looks close enough to me:

The dyno of all three is from an '06 or '07, correct? What mods did it have?

The graph I posted is Brian @ WPP Racing's 2004 TRX450R.

Its a pure monster...and I believe he's at about 54HP now with stock stroke, stock bore, stock sized valves, and stock carb.

Yes, the motor we are talking about in this post is an '06 or '07 motor not an '04 motor- totally different motor.

450rJam

that first graft is impressive, the dasa held 45hp from 4500 rpm to 6500 rpm.

now thats a nice curve.

the ron woods looks better on the low end than I thought it would.

what other mods where done to the motor to pull those #'s ?

450rJam

I mean 45-65mph

www.wppracing.com has the details

Comparing how this motor reacts to the pipe and how your's will react is like apples and oranges.

450rJam

yes, this is true

but it lets you know a good compairison between pipes.

more than anything it let me see the diff. exhausts mounted on the 450r.

the dasa looks the best in my opinion.
as long as it sounds good im cool with it.

its fast enough for me with just the full hrc kit, so if the dasa and jetting will give it a little more then its just icing on my cake lol.

with just the 06 w/hrc, will I be able to feel by the seat of the pants an increase in power ?

I believe exhaust act very very similar on both the 04/05 machines, and the 06/07 machines.

CZRider went from a Rossier to a DASA on his 2006 DRG build...I believe he stated that he was happy with the increase.

Jonas

I'm sure the exhaust bends are fairly similar but the motors internals are not at all the same. It's like showing a dyno of a CRF450x with a few pipes on it and saying that the winning pipe must make the most power on your trx450r, the 04 and 06 motors have a long list of differences, like just about every part.

Very valid point.

I just wish there were more dynos out there on the 06/07 machines to confirm. I guess within the next year...there will be a lot more dynos on the 06/07 machines as more and more people purchase and mod them.

The 04/05's have been around the block a time or two on the dyno :).

What is the Dasa pipe made off? Is it stainless? Also the Dasa label on it is it painted or what? I'm just curious becasue I've seen pics with half of the word left on (looks tacky). And how well does the black canister hold up.

cals400ex
10-20-2006, 06:31 PM
i have the black can dasa. it is holding up fine. i am sure if you throw it around you can beat it up, like anything else. the dasa signature on the can is actually a sticker. so i imagine that could come off without too much problem. the dasa pipe is stainless. i have owned both the dasa and rossier and i will recommend the dasa over the rossier every day of the week. however, i have an 05.

ok sorry to sound like a retard... but im in the same boat of researching and trying to decide which pipe i want to buy... i am looking for whole system and from what im reading everyone reccomends this DASA pipe.... im a newbie to the atv world really, i have a 05 450r with just UNI filter and hrc end cap.... but what i wanna say is i have never heard (before this site) of DASA... so how can i find their site? thanks alot

Ty's400

Their site is www.dasaracing.com.

*Cals400ex do you have any pictures of your pipe on your 450?*

I went with dasa and I like it ... I wanted black at the time.. Kazpr got the black dasa pipe and it looks VERY good.. Either one would be good.. But if you are a nuber s guy then dasa the dyno numbers are better with dasa.. And the sound is very good with the dasa..

Bike is kinda dirty from a race just rolled out of the trailer.......

If you go with dasa call johnny over at 1-918-371-0101
