I was in the 400ex area and they answered this question but I thought I would ask Raptor owners. I was recently offered a 04 raptor for $500 that needs a few parts and the motor is out and apart from a buddy and I am getting it. As of now I have a 00 400ex that I modded. Which one should I keep for woods and trail riding?I like the fact that the raptor has a big motor and is newer but my 400 has alot of parts and with the raptor I would be starting over.

Well if your already used to the 400 and riding that in the woods then i would defently stick with that, but If your planning on doing any MX and Track riding/Racing I would then set the Raptor up for the Trails (can be done easly) and make the 400ex track worthy....alot of people under estimate the Raptor in the woods, but the 450s aint unstoppable......but either or would be great in the woods, its all in your preference

what would the raptor NEED to be woods worthy? Just nerf bars, a bumper and skids or more?

Defently Skids and a Bumper, also some decent tires and maybe a set of YFZ Shocks 2 lower it a bit would be a good investment......that and some good old muscle and youll have a pretty nice Woods racer:D
