Well I started school today and my teacher in small engine mechanics said that we can bring in any engine that we have to get work done on it. I was just wondering though, I really dont want a big bore or anything on it like that will make the reliability go down, but what else can I do? I've heard better cams, rocker arms, port and polish. If I bore it up to anything probably just keep it at 300 exactly ( pointed out by someone here. )

ANy thoughts? I have the means to do this for pretty much nothing, buy a kit from somone hehe.

well, you could get a 305 kit and bore it to that, but there's no sense in not goin to the 330, it's just as reliable.

Well, I'm am not really knowledgable on what size bores will in the future show bad engine signs. But a 330 would probably be okay, and if it does give me problems down the road . . simple rebuild then because I will be a mechanic =P. Is there any places where I can purchase a kit that includes all the high quality parts I will need to install? I will do the work myself in school, how much you think it would all cost ( involving the engine i dont really want to go cheap and pay later for it )

you can buy a FST 330cc kit for $295, a FST oil cooler(gotta have) for $95, White bros cam for $100, White valve springs $135, you can get ur rockers hardened ?$$$, but i didn't and mine are still fine. You can get ur cylinder bored and re sleeved my a good machinest, and there's not much to installing all of the other stuff.

so how does it respond to those changes for you? good i should hope?? I only plan on really using the ex for trails, having fun farting around, I had my dad pay for this 98 CR250r engine that I have and will put it in a frame after school. That will be my racer then ( me race quadS? maybe a dream but seems like fun!! ). thats still a pretty good amount of money for the quad right now, mayb ei will wait until next summer and get the suspension and axles this year ( just seems more logical that way ). But any good points on the kit you have or anyone with a simalar one would be coo.

thx

the only prob that i had was my cam took away too much low-end, so i checked it on a degree wheel, and found that it was retarded like 5-6 degrees, so me and my dad advanced it like 10-12 degrees and now it has plenty of low end and still a lot of top.

is that like a flaw in the wb cam or something? probably if i got that and it was off i would want to fix it off the bat instead of tearing it all apart again =)
