440ex reliability

just to give you guys a little background, i currently have a warrior. yeah yeah, i know you guys are gonna slam the warrior but i'm needing to upgrade. i know of a 440ex that has barely been ridden after the rebuild. i hate to give up reverse, but i should be able to get buy without it. my question is how reliable are they? i know the 400ex's are reliable as hell, but didnt know about the strokers. also, should i save my money and just go with a 450r? any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

it all depends on how it was built. I would go through it, or have someone go through it. or at least talk to he engine builder and find out exactly what parts were used. there are very reliable 440's and also 440's that need rebuild every other ride.

If its built right they it will last. You gotta look or find out how it was broken in etc etc......

Parts used are a big factor too.

I went from a 440 with 6hrs on it.. the guy b4 me blew it up right away... It had to be from how it was installed.

I've got the 426 and NO PROBLEMs....... But again it all depends on how the build was....

this was built by a friend of a friend. supposedly this guy really knows his stuff. i will get a list of everything so you guys can tell me what you think. i appreciate everyones opinion.

i got a 440ex and it's been running for 4 years straight.No smoke no nothing. Great bike!

Depends on how it was built. I did the full 440 build a while back and have not had any problems at all. Just as reliable as the stock engine.....
