Axle Locknut Issues

Hey Guys, this is a friends post, hes just usin my account....thanks for any help


I have a 2002 Honda 400ex and my axle locknut is confusing us!! If we try to tighten it towards the swingarm the inside, skinnier nut comes off the threads but if we go towards the wheel then there is a big gap where the splines are showing, allowing my rotor to move ect... How exactly do i need to go about tightening this nut???? Some help would be much appreciated!!:D

You need to tighten the big nut out towards the wheel until it hits the stop ring, snug it up and then tighten the small nut up against the big nut to hold it in place....

Yes^^, tighten the big nut out and it will push on the stop ring and force the threads to hold everything tight.

yep what everyone else said. O and make sure you put threadlocker on it to otherwise they will come loose all the time.
