2 1986 250r's What are they worth?

I picked up 2 1986 Honda Trx 250r's a few weeks ago. They had been sitting for the last 12 years in a garage. The owner said he went riding one day and parked them on the trailer. They sat for a couple years in his old house then for 10 years in the new house. One is red and one is blue. They are 100% stock except one had new rear tires. What is something like those worth? Is there any more value in the different colors. They are not in showroom condition but they aren't all beat up and broken. They just look like they are used. Thank you.

got any pics they sound like real nice bikes the color does not matter just the condition they are in what mods are on them
& how do they run after siting that long i would guess 3300-4000

if they are 100% nice stock, they are worth some bucks. nice 100% stock bikes go for about 5-6gs.

I will get some pictures up and you guys can be the judge. They don't look brand new. They looking they have been ridden for a few years and put away. There are no mods. After sitting for 12 years the only thing left in the tank was the oil and in the carb too. I flushed them both out and it fired right up. I just cleaned all the calipers and changed all the fluids and everything works great. I haven't decided if I am going to sell one or both.

They sell for that kind of price if they are in REALLY good condition and are collector's items. If they are perfect showroom condition, they can sell for over 10g.

But it doesn't sound like these fit that bill. These sound like used quads in "decent" to "good" condition, definitly not "excellent" condition.

For 100% stock, there can be a HUGE variation depending on the condition of the quad. If it was a little beat-up, you'd probably see less than $2000. If it was used but still pretty nice, you could see as much as $3500.

I'd say each bike is worth anywhere from $2500-$3000. My girlfriend just bought an 86 in nearly identical condition for $2500. Here is a pic of her bike. The only thing aftermarket is the silencer and tires.

If you do a search in here for an article called the "definition of mint" you'll find an ebay auction of rides like what you're describing. the blue sold for $6600, the red for $7650. The blue was all stock. The red was missing the original silencer and one of the R stickers on the rear fender. In that case the red was worth more to bidders.

As an avid 250R follower and the poster of the definition of mint thread I can tell you that there is a HUGE difference between all stock and MINT/showroom new. A showroom new 250R will fetch a good price because it is a collectors item. A used 250R no matter how stock will fetch it's true value. And since you have two 86's which were the most produced ie less rare you'd probably be lucky to get what you paid for them unless you got a steal or find the right person $1800-$2500.

Does anybody else get a kick at how big the 250R looks under Darrens girlfriend. Most pictures of guys on the 250r make the quad look too small.

Dan, cant you see what time it is by the sun in that pic.
Looks to be around 12:00 & they could be taking a lunch break & changed clothes, :p :p just messing.
If she bought a 250R, I would think she had a pair of boots somewhere though.

This is a first for me, I thought all the girls from Cali was blonde headed ????.
