Im stuck with my 300ex for the time being, so Ive decided to upgrade my suspension. Im looking into getting works dual rate front shocks, +2 a-arms, or front wheel spacers (not sure if I'll have enough money for a-arms) a lonestar +4 axle, a 01' raptor rear shock. How does this sound, anyone have any suggestions, or have something like this. Do you have to put the 400ex spring on the raptor shock? Thanks for input guys

If your getting a 400ex, Buy things that you will be able to switch over to it.
Make sure an get rezzy's on the shocks! You dont really NEED a-arms, But A-arms are much better than spacers.
No idea on the rear shocks set-up, never heard of a raptor rear shock conversion, sounds kewl though, LMK if you get it set-up right, I might put one on my ole 300

if you do get a-arms, don't get the cheap ones. I know so many people gittin hurt on the cheap arms. And also, when u get the works, make sure and order them for about 20 lbs too much so they won't be too soft. I don't know about the rear conversion, but if that don't go through, get a pep rear and really the fronts if you can afford em, they're so much better than works.

If your under 200lbs, you'll want a 400ex spring if your over, you can use the Raptor spring. If at all possible, stay away from the wheel spacers!
Stocktires, 300ex shocks are too short to switch over to a 400ex when he gets one.

I know they are, Im just saying he should get some nice wheels and tires, and bars, And anything ese that would switch over. But not much else will besides those things

i was one of the first w/ a raptor rear shock. i dont know where jeff got the 200 lbs thing but i wiegh 130 lbs and marty suggested a 400 spring. it might be a good idea to try the stock raptor shock since it is fully adj. if if dosent work to your liking, look for the 400ex spring.

Does it have more travel then a 300ex rear shock? Does it work a whole lot better too? How much does it cost to send it to the quadshop and have the mac daddy kit installed in it? Thanx alot man

i dont know the answers to your questions but, here is what i do know- the rapt. shock with 400ex spring rides way better than a stock 300 spring. it is also harder to bottom ou. the rapt. shock is fully adjustable, the 300 ex shock has preload only. the rapt. shock is rebuildable, the 300 isnt. I dont know the price of the mac daddy kit because i didnt use it. look at jeff@thequadshop's sig and click on his quadshop link, you can find the prices there.

p.s.also, with the 300ex wieghing so much less than a raptor, the macdaddy kit may need to be set up a little differently because the formulas for the kit assume your wieght on a 400 lb raptor, not a 380 lb ex. ask jeff about this.

Thanx for all the great info Brad. You made a good point about the mac daddy kit and how the 300 weighs less then the raptor, they must do mac daddys for this special purpose. I need to find a raptor shock and a 400ex spring, and an axle and I'll be set , for the time being.

i'm with stock tires, once you buy that 400ex thats just gonna be wasted money that made it take longer to save up money to buy one and you won't be getting it back when you sell it. Just buy tires, rims, bars, kill switch and all that other stuff and SAVE your stock parts so you can either part out your aftermarket parts or put them on your 400ex.

Ya, I know I wont be able to get much of the money back when I sell it. I cant live without some good suspension so Ive decided to do that to my 300, and maybe a few motor mods. Then when I sell it, i'll either get a 400, R, or if Honda ever comes out with a new quad.

no, thats What I meant, you still thinkin their gonna come out with a new quad in 2005? some people never learn

anyway, I'd say go ahead a get the suspension if your gonna keep the 300ex fo some time. The before you sell it, sell all the aftermarket stuff and sell it as a stock quad
