Just wanted to see if there are any second gen Dakota owners on here. I'm picking up my 98 Dakota on Monday. It's an ext cab 4x4 318 V8 Magnum engine/auto trans w/ 31" Kenda tires. Anyone have any horsepower tips and tricks for these trucks?

Here's a pic. It's not the actual truck but it looks exactly like this one.

I have a 2000 4x4. Magnum V-6, cold air intake, headers, dual exhaust, Hyperchip, and a K&N. It runs pretty damn good!!!!

Sounds nice. I was thinking of doing a gibson cat back exhaust, cold air intake(not sure what brand yet) and the hypertech power programmer III. I'm not sure what kind of gains I'll get but the truck seems pretty stout now. My last truck was an 05 chevy colorado 4 cyl. which I just lemon lawed so anything with a v8 will feel pretty good to me.

There are a ton of power mods you can do for a 5.2. Check out www.dakotausa.com and www.dakota-durango.com . I have an 01 with a 4.7. By the way, thats a Gen 3 (1997-2004). Here is mine.
