handguard install problem

hey i just got in my new handguards they are Acerbis MX Light Hand Guard for my 03 400ex and they wont fit. it says here:

that they Mount to the stock front brake and stock clutch perches how is this done i must be missing something simple and i just dont get it. i tried mounting them next to the perches but then the levers dont fit under them? any ideas? pics of anyone that has then would be super helpfull thanks

every acrebis thing i ever saw in a catalog said MOTORCYCLE ONLY. i dont know though.

I had some. They've done alright so far. but installing them did take more work than it should for hand gaurds. I ended up mounting mine next to the perches like you said and I had to just bend the hand gaurds out some so they would clear the brake and clutch levers.

it didnt say that it said universal but im thinking they are not supposed to fit but i really like the way they look and want to use them so ima try to make them fit somehow

i have them on my 03 400ex on renthal bars. i had 2 buy a spacer that acerbris makes so the clutch an brake levers dont hit
