I did a search and didn't really find the answer. Would 400ex LT a arms work with 16.25 shocks with the stock shock mounts? I've seen people run 400ex LT a arms and 400ex LT shocks. I don't see why you couldn't run the ST shocks with the stock mounts with the 400ex LT a arms. Just curious...I'm looking around for an A arms set up to go along with my PEP 400ex shocks.

I have wondered the same thing. I am kind of stumped I don't know if I want to go with 400ex or 300 ex shocks and a-arms:confused:

if I were ever to by LT stuff for a 300(which I never would) I would buy all stuff made for the 300. Find some LT 300ex shocks which are like 16 1/4" or something like that and match then with some sort of LT arm like GDH.

I've looked into the 300ex LT a arms, and most of them are out of my price range. I've come across some good deals on 400ex LT arms, and have just wondered. I would think it would work since people use the LT shock with the LT a arms. Wouldn't that mean the stock shock mount would work with a ST shock? Kind of confusing but im sure someone will know what im talking about.

I've thought about this myself and I'm pretty sure it could work. Either way a shock company should be able to custom build a set that will work. When I put burgard 300ex arms with a relocator bracket and elkas they had me take measurements for custom made shocks even for my setup. I'm sure they can do the same for the 400ex LT arms. My idea was to use 300ex LT a arms and a relocator bracket for an extra long travel setup which should call for a 400ex LT length shock but I was never brave enough to try it.

I would think it would work too. I might give it a try. I haven't seen anyone else try it so thats what worries me. I don't see how it couldnt work though. They run 400ex LT a arms with the 400ex LT shocks. That should make the stock shock mount on a 300 at the right height. I guess it will matter what a arms I use also. The ones I am looking at are for a 19" 400ex LT shock. I think that will work. I'm still not for sure if I want to do this yet. I would like to hear more about this.

i run asr st +2 400ex mx a arms with works shocks. i just called them and told them what i was running and they built almost perfect shocks. im sure PEP would do the same thing. they could probably take the 400ex shocks and convert them to work with 400ex lt a arms

I'm not worrried about my shocks right now. I'm just trying to find a set of a arms that will fit my shocks. What is the stock length on a 300ex shock? If it is the same length from the stock shock to a ST 400ex shock, as it is from a ST 400ex shock to a LT 400ex shock it should work.

I'm pretty sure a stock 300ex shock is right around 13" long. In theory it should work since the ST 400ex shock is 3" shorter than the 19" LT shock. Honestly I think the 400ex LT a arms would be a better setup than the 400ex ST arms just becuase it would put the shock at a more ideal angle instead of being upright like they usually are with ST a arms. Either way you should be able to adjust for proper ride height with the preload on the shock. It might be a good idea to talk to a shock builder about the setup before giving it a try.

thats what i thought to but i had works made me some shocks w/o relocator and i dont think the are at a more vertical angle than normal.

Oh I'm hoping it will work. The PEP's have a lot of room to adjust the ride height so i'm sure it will be ok. I will have pics for you guys saturday hopefully. I have another thread with some pics of my rebuild, and it will be done friday or saturday depending when the a arms come in.
